Through the use of an air abrasion tool, we can offer our patients a needle-less, drill-less fillings. The air abrasion tool allows us to remove decay, surface stains, and prepare a tooth for procedures such as sealants and bonding, without using a traditional dental drill.
Air abrasion, as its name suggests uses high pressure air to blast abrasive non-toxic particles at the effected tooth. This tool is highly accurate and allows us to maintain as much of your natural tooth enamel as possible.
Air abrasion tools do not cause the heat or vibration associated a traditional drill. This eliminates the sound and feel of 'the drill' as well as the need for freezing in many cases. As procedures using air abrasion usually involve small areas of repair, we can often complete them in a shorter period of time and without the numbness from the freezing you can get back to your day right away.
Air abrasion can not be used on larger cavities or more involved procedures such as root canal therapy. For treatments involving a traditional drill we offer other alternatives to make treatment as comfortable as possible and eliminate any anxiety you may have.

In addition to traditional dental scalers (the tools that 'scrape' plaque from your teeth we use ultrasonic technology to aid in the cleaning and care of your teeth and gums. Our ultrasonic scaler helps to remove plaque and care for inflamed tissues caused by gingivitis (especially between your teeth and below your gum line).
